It's not a classic by any means, but for most of us, just a snap-shot in time. I think he eventually settled in the Seychelles a few years back.
 
I managed to get hold of the first edition, the American version - Interval on Symi (colour photos) and the reprinted book.
 
Please don't run for the bus and fall-over! :(
